Leading a tobacco shop is challenging enough, but running a football club in Croatia is another level. Since taking over Rijeka, Damir Mišković has guided the club with an excellent sports and business vision. He built a small stadium with training infrastructure using the club’s own resources.

Each season, with the help of effective scouting and a strong sports sector, he finds new players to replace those he sells, ensuring the club’s sport and financial stability. Although he has made a few questionable investments and some bad decisions, he quickly recognized his mistakes and returned to the club’s strategic path.

While he may not be perfect—there are ongoing issues regarding ambition and the youth academy—considering the state of the club before Damir Mišković became chairman, Monsignore is the best thing that could have happened for Rijeka’s sports scene.
